About the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System

During 2019, the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System accepted submissions as part of its public consultation process about this important healthcare sector.

This provided an opportunity to have your say about how Victoria supports older people with a mental illness.

Whether you are living with mental illness, caring for a loved one, working in the sector or just have a general interest in mental health – the Commission set out to hear views and ideas for change.

Every contribution helped inform the Commission’s reports.

The Commission delivered its final report in February 2021.

The Victorian Government has committed to implementing all of the Royal Commission’s recommendations.
