Walking basketball is a low impact, social and fun way to stay active. Walking basketball provides great health benefits to all participants including seniors and people who may be recovering from injury. Basketball Victoria provides walking basketball programs across the state.

Walking soccer
Walking football is indoor soccer for people aged over 50. It has modified rules to enable people who aren’t very active to be able to participate. A committed group of older Whittlesea residents from a range of cultural backgrounds has embraced the program.

University of the Third Age (U3As) connect Victorian seniors with their local community to form lifelong friendships, learn new skills, and enjoy retirement together. There are 104 U3As across the state, each providing a range of educational, social and active programs – there’s something for everyone.

Probus
Probus provides an opportunity to meet with fellow retirees on a regular basis, listen to interesting speakers and join together in activities, all in the company of new friends. Membership is open to any member of the community who is retired or semi-retired and is looking for friendship and fun.
Men’s Sheds
Men’s Sheds are a place for men to go for a chat, to meet with other men, put their skills to use and support each other. The modern Men’s Shed is an updated version of the shed in the backyard that has long been a part of Australian culture. There are over 300 Men’s Sheds in Victoria.
