Event overview
Event details
Preparing for the future involves understanding the importance of having wills, Powers of Attorney, and Advance Care Directives in place.
Having your own wishes recorded and in place can ensure that your voice is heard if things take a turn for the worse. Before you talk to a lawyer, there’s a lot to think about, to make sure that you’re making decisions that will work best for you, and which accurately reflect your preferences.
Join us for an informative session designed to connect you with the information and knowledge you need to make crucial decisions about your health and finances.
Let's think about the following
- Wills: What sort of things should we be thinking about before we visit a lawyer?
- Powers of Attorney: Let’s discuss how to appoint someone you trust to make important decisions on your behalf when you’re unable to do so.
- Advance Care Directives: Understand how to communicate your healthcare preferences and ensure your voice is heard in critical situations.
- Elder abuse: What can be done if I'm worried about an older person?
Whether you're planning for the future or just curious, everyone is welcome.
Presented by the Advocacy & Rights Centre Ltd.
Tea and coffee-making facilities provided.
Accessibility: The room used for this session, and toilets, are wheelchair and low mobility accessible. However, we recommend anyone with accessibility needs contact Castlemaine Community House to discuss their requirements.
