Looking for a way to stay active, improve your fitness, and enjoy the social side of sport? walking football (or walking soccer) is designed specifically for active adults aged 50 and over, offering a low impact, fun, and inclusive way to get moving and make new friends.
Walking football is a small-sided, low impact version of the game that’s easy on the joints while still offering a great cardiovascular workout. Matches are played on smaller pitches with modified formats and the focus is on having fun while staying active. Game times are shorter, and the rules are modified to make it easier for everyone to join in:
- No running: Players must always have one foot on the ground.
- Non-contact: The game is non-contact, so no tackling or body checks.
- Ball restrictions: The ball can’t be kicked above hip-height, and heading is not allowed.
Whether you're new to football, or returning after a break, this modified version of the game is perfect for all fitness levels.
