Event overview
Event details
The Gardens were originally opened in 1860 and stand on the lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung Nation.
The Gardens have a collection of historic plantings including oaks, elms and pines, expansive rose gardens and seasonal flower beds. The Gardens are also home to the scenic Lake Joanna and its notable birdlife.
The tour will be led by one of the Gardens' horticultural staff.
Wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking on the main paths of the garden.
We have the use of a Castlemaine Trishaw bicycle to help a small number of people with mobility issues. Please don't rely on the bicycle as your only way of getting around the Garden as we cannot guarantee it's availability.
After the tour, we'll go to Das Kaffeehaus cafe at The Mill.
