Event overview
Event details
Have you heard of The Adaptation Game (TAG) ? The Adaptation Game is a narrative table-top game simulating climate change in the local place where you live, utilising storyful scenarios that merge local experience with climate science.
TAG's narrative game play increases awareness of local climate risks, resilience strategies and local council programs. This process of community storytelling, knowledge sharing and shared sense-making increases community connection and agency to act, both individually and in relationship with others.
Why not come and explore how we can enable ourselves and our communities adapt and thrive in a changing environment ?
Playing TAG A session of The Adaptation Game is played with 4 players and 1 facilitator. We're bringing 4 facilitators from U3A Merri-bek, which means that there are 16 'player' spots at this event.
You don't need to be a 'gamer' to play. TAG is designed for everyone, and our facilitators will guide the conversation.
We'll play for about 2 hours at this event with breaks and catering. A hearty serve of canapes, refreshing drinks and other treats will keep us sustained.
Doors will open at 10:00 and we'll kick off with a brief presentation and gameplay round 10:30. Our session will wrap up around 14:00 including breaks for food and conversation.
If you can't stay the whole time, feel free to drop in. Just let us know when you register.
We can't wait to share stories with you about how we can enable our communities to adapt and thrive in our changing environment!
This event is hosted by U3A Merri-bek and supported by Merri-bek Council.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
We will be playing TAG in the Kirrip - Djerring room in Brunswick Town Hall (entry through Counihan Gallery.) This is an accessible event.
