Event details

Join Dr Katherine Phelps for a session on how to write 'hopecore' - hopeful stories for interactive worlds and games.

Cosycore is a growing trend in gaming. These are games that are fun, wholesome, and a great place for making friends.

Katherine is particularly interested in creating Hopecore stories. The games that imagine a future you might want to live in. Where people live peacefully with one another and nature while still having adventures.

Also included are games that might help us get to that kind of future!

Writing for interactive worlds is a different challenge to writing for books or cinema.

Come along and get some tips on how to write Hopecore games.

Dr Katherine Phelps taught storytelling for computer game design at RMIT for ten years. She has authored the book Surf's Up: Internet Australian Style.
