Event overview
Event details
Learn about different types of seaweed, their uses and potential benefits, and discover how they have been used in cooking by people and communities for generations.
This is a hands-on workshop where you’ll have the opportunity to blanch, dehydrate, blend and taste-test seaweed.
Experiment with different preparation methods, watch the colours change before your eyes, and discover just how versatile seaweed can be.
The workshop will be led by the fabulous Dr Zoe Brittain, a PhD researcher from Deakin University, Warrnambool.
Zoe’s research focuses on ethnophycology — the relationship between people, their communities and seaweed.
Come along, have some fun, try something new and learn more about one of our region’s fascinating natural resources.
