Caesia Gardens welcomes award‑winning Sumi‑e (Japanese Ink) artist, Junko Azukawa, to host a Japanese calligraphy workshop.

With Shodo, you will learn:

• various brush techniques,
• calligraphy styles
• stroke order
• the balance of Japanese characters
• the history of calligraphy
• the meaning of Japanese characters — so you don’t need to know any Japanese to begin.

Shodo is a calm, meditative art form, focused on rhythm, balance and presence rather than perfection.

The session is designed to be slow, thoughtful and relaxing, allowing you to unwind and enjoy the creative process.

All materials are provided, and workshop places are limited to ensure one‑on‑one tuition.
