Event overview
Event details
Working across art, queer ecology and landscape, Courtney Coombs and guests ask ‘What changes when we stop ranking categories and start paying attention to how they relate?’.
Expect an open and exploratory conversation.
Courtney Coombs makes art, writes and facilitates to make sense of the world and their place in it. Their installation Protective Measures is part of the Design X Nature exhibition. The installation came out of watching the temporary structures put in to protect newly turfed grass. The posts, ties and tape that look like clutter but shift with air and time.
The work asks what we notice as we move through a place. This panel takes that question seriously.
This event is accessible to people who use a wheelchair. The area is grass and has gentle inclines.
We will provide mats, cushions and stools. If you have specific seating requirements, please let us know when you book.
Enter the Australian Drylands via the Domain Road gate at the southeast corner of the Gardens.
