Event details

Join us for a special Eastern Maar Cultural Tour to Hopkins Falls, exploring the rich cultural heritage, history and significance of this beautiful area.

Hopkins Falls and the Hopkins River are ancient and sacred places of spiritual significance to Traditional Owners.

The 90-metre-wide falls are also renowned for the short-finned eel (Anguilla australis), known as Kooyang, which makes its remarkable migration journey through the river system.

Discover the deep connection between the Eastern Maar people and the landscape. Learn how the surrounding volcanic plains have supported Aboriginal communities for thousands of years, long before colonial pastoral settlement.

Bus leaves from Flagstaff Hill Carpark at 10 am.

Light lunch included.
