The Paris: Impressions of Life 1880–1925 exhibition features over 170 works of art and artisan objects from the Musée Carnavalet.

From the busy banks of the Seine to bustling marketplaces, grand boulevards, beautiful public gardens and the views of Montmartre, the exhibition immerses visitors in the energy of Paris.

Some features of the exhibition include:

  • paintings by artists such as Jean Béraud, Maurice Utrillo and Paul Signac
  • vibrant graphic prints by Toulouse-Lautrec and his contemporaries
  • artisan street signs, historic couture, decorative arts and objects from the era.

Musée Carnavalet was founded in 1866 to document the history, built environments and unique character of Paris during a period of rapid modernisation.
