Anzac Day events
Anzac Day marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.
At the Shrine of in Melbourne there will be a traditonal commemorative service from 5.30am on Thursday 25 April 2024. The service will also be live-streamed.
There will be commemorative services across the state on Anzac Day. The Returned & Services League (RSL) Sub-Branches will host these services.

The Australian War Memorial has made resources to mark Anzac Day at home. These include films, documentaries, podcasts and history articles. You can explore the collection on the Australian War Memorial .
Veterans Card – Victoria
The Victorian Government has introduced the digital Veterans Card. This is a program designed to express our gratitude and provide support to all veterans.
With the digital Veterans Card, veterans can access a range of discounts and benefits. They can also connect with veteran employment programs.
Anyone living in Victoria who has served or is currently serving in the Australian Defence Force is eligible for the Veterans Card – Victoria.
To get a digital Veterans Card you’ll need a Service Victoria account and proof of your service. Proof of service can include:
- a Personnel Management Key Solution (PMKeyS) number,
- a Service/Regimental ID, or
- a Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) Card number.
