Celebration Day

With over 16,000 people in attendance from across the state, Celebration Day 2024 launched the Victorian Seniors Festival in style.

The entire Federation Square precinct came to life with entertainment and activities including music, dance and workshops performed by mostly older artists sharing their passions and talents.

Hundreds of senior Victorians came from across the state and connected through a mass ukulele workshop led by AJ Leonard, while the Edge Theatre showcased more than 60 dancers from the Chinese Senior Citizens Club of Manningham and featured the talents of Legends of Brass and the Australian Women’s Choir.

In a wonderful afternoon of connection and celebration, the Shepparton Centenarians Luncheon honoured some of the area’s oldest residents.

Joyce Oxenbury, 102 years young, had the joy of cutting the Centennial Cake at the end of the afternoon’s music, snacks and festivities.
