Event details

Come join us for a great celebration of older Victorians, their friends, allies and families. All are welcome and encouraged to enjoy and engage in wonderful performances.

On Celebration Day, the entire precinct of Fed Square comes to life with music, dance and workshops performed by mainly older artists sharing their passion and talents across the Main Square, Riverside Stage and The Edge.

The River Terrace will be abuzz with marquees hosted by a range of Festival sponsors, partners and organisations, who all support older Victorians to live their best lives.

A special feature this year will be a mass ukulele workshop and performance of two iconic hits in the Main Square. This performance will feature older Victorians from across the state.

Plan your journey

With Flinders Street Station right beside Fed Square, free public transport for Victorian Seniors Card holders is the best way to get there and join in the Festival fun.

A planned protest is expected to impact the intersection of Swanston and Flinders Streets.

Trams will not run along St Kilda Rd or Swanston Street from 12 pm – 4 pm on Sunday 6 October.

Taking the train to Flinders Street Station is the best way to get to the Festival.

When exiting Flinders St Station, please head to the southern exit closest to the Yarra River and the Clocks at Flinders Restaurant.

There will be a clear and safe path through to Fed Square with Victoria Police onsite and event marshals from the Victorian Seniors Festival there to support you.

Look out for our friendly Festival staff in colourful t-shirts to show you the way.

Calling all ukulele players – let’s make history!

To make Celebration Day truly memorable – and maybe even make history – ukulele players from across the state are invited to join a mass ukulele workshop led by AJ Leonard, Australia’s uke maestro.

During the workshop, AJ Leonard will guide the ukulele-loving crowd through a special arrangement of an iconic and beloved classic hit, then invite everyone to perform together.

AJ Leonard has put together a player’s toolkit with an instructional video, chords, song lyrics and a recording of the finished song for you to play along with.

Registrations are essential. To join in this exciting workshop and access the player’s toolkit, please register onlineExternal Link .
