Echuca Twin Rivers Specialist School

Echuca Twin Rivers Specialist School Cafe is open to the public Monday to Friday 9:30- 1:00. The Twin Rivers Café offered students a hands-on introduction to the hospitality industry, encompassing both front-of-house and back-of-house learning experiences. Students participated in short courses covering food safety and basic barista training, along with familiarisation with occupational health and safety protocols specific to café operations. Throughout the program, students honed their teamwork abilities, followed recipes, expanded their knowledge of culinary terms and mastered various cleaning procedures. They showcased their culinary skills by preparing an assortment of simple yet impeccably executed meals and desserts. Students received front of house training including customer service etiquette, welcoming patrons, taking orders accurately and serving meals promptly to tables. Additionally, they gained proficiency in handling money, operating the point of sale machine, managing cash flow and operating the EFTPOS machine.
