Val's LGBTI Ageing and Aged Care Episode 2: Step out, Step in, Step up

2022 Victorian Seniors Festival

Decoative

Andrew from Val’s LGBTI Ageing and Aged Care talks with older lesbian, gay and and transgender and gender diverse people about their fabulous lives and unique perspectives of ageing. And we ask how, or why, taking it easy as an older LGBTI person sometimes means stepping up and finding your voice.

In Episode 2 Andrew speaks to Sally, Liz, Robbie, Toni, Tracie and Peter.

Val’s LGBTI Ageing and Aged Care is part of Rainbow Health Australia (formerly GLHV) at the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society at Latrobe University. Val’s was established in 2009, and works to improve healthy ageing pathways, care and visibility of older LGBTI people.

The program's name was inspired by the pioneering work of Val Eastwood who ran Val's coffee lounge in Melbourne in the 1950s.
