Event details

Join us to hear from our world-leading experts in the fields of age-related neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease and Dementia.

You’ll learn about our Parkinson’s Disease Research Centre which is a collaborative, multidisciplinary initiative to develop early diagnostic markers and precision medicines to improve health outcomes for people with Parkinson’s disease.

You’ll also hear about how our dementia research, involving clinicians from different medical disciplines, is focused on finding new genetic clues behind different causes of dementia and developing new diagnostic tests that could allow people to access the best available treatments sooner.

As Australia’s oldest medical research institute, WEHI will open its doors for a rare glimpse into how advances in medical research are helping us all live healthier lives for longer.

As our population ages, our researchers have a relentless desire to discover why older people are more prone to certain diseases, the initial causes of these diseases, and how our bodies change as we grow older.

Over a cup of coffee or tea, you’ll have the opportunity to meet our presenters, ask questions and discuss what the future of medical research holds.

Bookings are essential.

For our catering, please RSVP including any dietary or access requirements by 30 September 2024
