Event details
Depart the Ararat Railway Station at 10:30am to learn about the fascinating history of Ararat.
From the gold rush to the Aradale Asylum and J Ward gaol, the once bustling railway hub and rich agriculture east of the Grampians.
There is a lot of history for a small town.
Itinerary:
- 10:30 am - Board the bus and start the tour
- 12:00 pm - Drop off at the Ararat Town Hall Free time to have lunch, browse the town, Botanical Gardens or do some shopping
- 2:00 pm - Pick up at Ararat Town Hall
- 2:10 pm - Drop off at Ararat Railway Station
If using the free VLine train service can catch the train departing 7:53 am Melbourne Southern Cross Station, arriving at Ararat Railway Station at approximately 10:22am.
The return train departs Ararat Railway Station at 2:28 pm and arrives at Melbourne Southern Cross Station at approximately 4:51pm.
