Event details

Port Fairy U3A, along with the Moyne Shire Council are delighted to announce this special Seniors Month event which will provide valuable information that we all should be aware of before we actually need it, whether for ourselves or for someone close to us.

It’s about peace of mind. We all know we need to get our affairs in order before we die but it is complicated.

We often don’t know what we need to do to achieve this and therefore it’s easier to avoid doing anything about it. Confronting death is challenging but ignoring the reality risks adding to the problems of those left behind. They will have to sort out personal financial and legal matters possibly without knowing all they need to know in order to finalise things in a correct and straightforward way.

We are also dealing with the reality of increasing dependence and how families deal with personal information and decision making.

Representatives from Moyne Shire (Home and Community Care and My Aged Care) and Moyne Health Community Services will be discussing what help is available and who to talk to for advice and will give a brief outline of what they do, their costs and how to access their services.

The event will begin with an overview presentation by Sally Clark and Eda Ritchie based on Sally’s well researched book. A complimentary copy will be available to those who attend.

Following will be a forum which includes representatives from local health and support services.

This is a rare opportunity to gain information that we all need at some point. Why not now?

Morning tea provided.
