Discover the Joy of Ukulele!

Event details

Are you ready to embark on a musical journey with the ukulele?

Whether you're a seasoned musician or a complete beginner, our play along session is designed just for you.

Join us for an uplifting experience where you'll learn to strum, sing, and connect through the magic of this delightful instrument.

What makes our session special?

  1. Instant gratification: Within minutes, you'll be playing your first songs! The ukulele's simplicity makes it accessible to everyone. No prior musical experience required — just a willingness to explore and have fun. We also have 5 spare ukuleles you can use if you don't have one (yet).
  2. Guided learning: Fi will lead you through the simple skills that will allow you to play songs right away.
  3. Easy songs, big smiles: Using classic tunes like Paperback Writer (The Beatles), You Never Can Tell (Chuck Berry), and I'd Rather Go Blind (Etta James), we'll dive into a repertoire of easy songs. Sing along as you strum, and feel the joy of making music together.
  4. Community connection: Beyond the chords and melodies, our session is about building connections. Meet fellow seniors who share your passion for music. Swap stories, laugh, and create lasting memories.

Note: If you've never played the ukulele before, fear not! We believe that music knows no age, and the ukulele is your perfect companion.

Venue: Flemington-Kensington RSL. The room is upstairs and there is no lift, unfortunately. We apologise for the inconvenience. Let's make music and celebrate life.

Bring your curiosity and a smile — we'll provide the rest. Very reasonably-priced drinks at the bar.
