Where can I purchase a discounted IGA and Hardware Gift Card?
Seniors Card and Seniors Business Discount Card holders can purchase a discounted IGA and Hardware Gift Card through the Seniors Online website
. They cannot be purchased instore.
For what amounts can I purchase a Gift Card?
You can purchase discounted gift cards up to the value of $250 per gift card with the cumulative value per purchase up to $1,000.
How long does it take to receive my Gift Card in the post?
Gift cards are sent next business day from a processing centre in Melbourne. For Standard Post please allow up to 5 business days for delivery, more in regional areas.
Please note that Australia Post have advised that there are delays within their delivery service due to Coronavirus (COVID19). Gift Cards may take longer than usual to reach you. We apologise for any inconvenience.
What should I do if I do not receive my gift card?
Please call 1300 409 245 if you haven’t received your gift card within the suggested timeframe.
Do I need to activate my gift card when I receive it?
The letter that you receive in the post together with your gift card will provide instructions whether you need to activate your card before use.
Can I use my Gift Card straight away?
Yes, as soon as your card is activated, you can use it to make purchases.
Where can I redeem my gift cards?
Gift cards can be used in these participating stores
. Approximately 99% of stores currently are participating stores.
Can I use my Gift Card online?
No, these gift cards can only be used instore.
How can I redeem my gift cards?
Shop in a participating store
. Present your Gift Card to a cashier at checkout for payment and provide PIN number of the Gift Card. If you’re at the Self-Service checkout, when prompted, select ‘savings’ and enter your Gift Card PIN number into the EFTPOS terminal. PIN number is located on the back of a Gift Card and you can gently scratch off the foil covering PIN number.
Can I buy something that costs more than the value on my Gift Card?
Yes, you can use the Gift Card for part payment and pay the balance using other accepted cards or cash.
Can I add more value to a Gift Card?
No, after the Gift card is issued, you cannot add any more value to the Gift Card.
Can I use more than one Gift Card in a purchase?
Yes, you can redeem multiple gift cards to complete a purchase.
Can I buy something that costs less than the value on my Gift Card?
Yes, the value of your purchase will be deducted from your gift card balance.
Do I receive change on a gift card transaction?
No, any balance will remain on the card.
Does a gift card expire?
Yes, Gift Card expires 3 years after issue date. Issue date can be found on the back of a Gift Card. Also, you can check your card’s expiry date on the Metcash website

Can I get my Gift card replaced if it’s lost, stolen or damaged?
No, your gift card should be treated like cash. Lost and stolen gift cards will not be replaced or refunded.
How can I check the balance of my Gift Card?
You can check your card balance here or by calling 1300 409 245.
Where can I find the Card ID and Access Code?
All reference numbers are on the reverse side of the card. You will need the Card ID and Access code to query account balances and prior transactions.
Can I check my Gift Card balance in-store?
No – balance checking can only be completed on the website

Can I get my money refunded, exchange my Gift Card for cash or withdraw money?
No, your gift card cannot be refunded, exchanged for cash nor used for cash withdrawals.

How to return goods that have been purchased with a Gift Card?
Returns and refunds will be provided in line with each retailer’s refund policy.
