The Victorian Seniors Festival is back – bigger and better than ever – with an exciting program of online entertainment and live events across the state.
From concerts and live music to dances, exhibitions, film festivals and activities, the Festival offers something for everyone.
This year’s Festival theme – Takin’ it easy – is all about easing back into events the way you choose. A diverse range of in-person events will return to the city and communities across Victoria this October, alongside online audio performances to enjoy from the comfort of home.
The Festival partners with all of Victoria’s 79 local councils, businesses, and community and cultural organisations to deliver celebrations in every corner of the state.
Highlights of the Festival program include:
- the return of Celebration Day at Fed Square on Sunday 2 October
- a week of entertainment at the Nurse Next Door Home Care Services Festival Hub at The Edge from Monday 3 to Friday 8 October
- the Country Concert Series, presenting live entertainment from popular performers across 26 regional towns
- the Aged Care Tour, sharing the fun of the Festival with aged care residents across the state.
From July until October, older Victorians can enjoy monthly releases of audio entertainment on Seniors Online. The Festival’s online series features First Nations performances, radio plays and multicultural content.
To help you to make the most of the Festival, Victorian Seniors Card holders can enjoy eight days of free public transport throughout Victoria from 2 to 9 October 2022. Free travel will be available across all metropolitan services, V/Line train and coach services, and selected regional bus services outside of the myki-enabled area.
