CINEMA NOVA PRESENTS THE MONTHLY MATINEE: Sunday 11 September, 10.30am.
Catch the follow-up to the beloved 1970s family classic The Railway Children early at Nova’s Monthly Matinee. Join the resident film critic, Jan Epstein, in conversation with a guest for a very special advance screening complete with complimentary morning tea.
It's World War II and tomboy Lily (Beau Gadson), rebellious Pattie (Eden Hamilton) and sensitive Ted (Zac Cudby) arrive in the peaceful village of Oakworth, West Yorkshire - evacuated from their homes to escape aerial bombings. Local families raise their hands to offer respite and Lily, Pattie and Ted find themselves welcomed into the home of a now-grown Bobbie (The Railway Children's Jenny Agutter).
Joined by Bobbie's naive grandson Thomas (Austin Haynes), the trio encounter a young black soldier on the run from his military unit and agree to shelter him in secret at Bobbie's farmhouse.
Courtesy of Cinema Nova, we have ten double passes to their Monthly Matinee (Sunday 11 September, 10.30am) to giveaway. Check your August e-News and click on the link to enter the prize draw.
