The agricultural show circuit of north-west Victoria is nourished and supported by older members of the community and the shows occur over the same period as the annual Victorian Seniors Festival and so this year we are proud to be providing entertainment at six shows in October.

Greg Champion

Humourist, wacko, singer songwriter, folky, compere, broadcaster, Australian, fruitcake. Song titles include May Your Fridge Be Full Of Coldies, I Made a 100 In The Backyard At Mum's, When the Going Gets Tough Go And Get Stuffed, and Never Turn Right at Burke Road Malvern. Champs has been a member of institutional ABC radio show The Coodabeen Champions for 40 years. Champs has released more than 30 albums on country, Christmas, cricket, comedy, theosophical and Australian themes. A four-time runner-up in the Australian Underachiever Awards, Greg has no criminal record.

Greg will be performing at

  • Goroke Show Saturday 1 October.
  • Kaniva Show Saturday 8 October.
  • Rainbow Show Tuesday 11 October.

Me n Me Mates

This folk/country acoustic trio showcases Australia’s unique songs, language and stories. Rediscovering old songs, language and yarns as well as writing, performing and recording new material on Australian themes has proved to be an enjoyable and ongoing adventure for the group. Audiences of all ages appreciate and enjoy the group’s energetic, down to earth and good-natured shows. The repertoire includes convict songs, work/shearing songs, travelling songs, songs about beer, cattle, dogs and trains mixed in with bush ballads and comic sketches by iconic writers like Henry Lawson and Banjo Paterson.

Me n Me Mates will be performing at

  • Nhill Show, Nhill Showgrounds, 91-95 Victoria Street Nhill Thursday 13 October. Opens 830am until late. Performance times: 1pm and 3pm.
  • Dimboola Show Saturday 15 October.
