The 2021 influenza vaccine is still readily available, free and it’s not too late to get the benefits and protection from this year’s vaccine.
Annual vaccination against flu is the most effective way to prevent catching the flu. It reduces the risk of getting the flu, and if you still catch it, you are likely to get a milder infection than if you had not been immunised. It is especially important that people in risk groups get vaccinated because they are at higher risk of developing serious flu-related complications.
Influenza vaccine can be given before or after any dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, a minimum of 7 days apart.
