  • The Seniors Card Program conducted a competitive process where all Victorian licensed energy retailers were invited to submit proposals. AGL was selected by a panel of experts for its competitive pricing and value-added services which will appeal to many seniors.

  • For many seniors, this plan could represent significant cost savings. To make the most of it, you are encouraged to compare your existing plan and other plans in the market with this offer. The Victorian Government's Switch On website is an independent source of information about Victoria's energy system. It features My Power Planner - a price comparison tool which lets you compare publicly available electricity offers. The Victorian Government's Energy Compare websiteExternal Link lets you search and compare gas offers in your area.

  • By law, you have a cooling off period of 10 business days. This gives you time to reconsider the contract and cancel the agreement. There are no exit fees - seniors are able to exit without penalty should they find a better deal.

  • Seniors can refer to the Switch On website for more information about electricity plans. The website is a Victorian Government initiative to provide an independent source of information about Victoria’s energy system. It includes the My Power Planner price comparison tool to help you compare publicly available electricity offers. The Victorian Government's Energy Compare websiteExternal Link lets you search and compare gas offers in your area.

    Please note: My Power Planner compares publicly available electricity plans. As the AGL discount energy plan is an exclusive offer to Seniors Card holders, it is not featured in the My Power Planner tool.

    If you do take up the AGL offer you will receive bills on a monthly basis - you can then use My Power Planner to compare your bills against other publicly available offers to ensure you are getting the best deal.

    Seniors Card holders are able to exit from the AGL discount energy plan offer without penalty should they find a better deal.

  • The discount energy plans are available to Victorian Seniors Card holders. You will need to provide your Seniors Card number and residential address to access these plans. However, if your residence has solar panels you are unable to access these discount energy plans as solar energy plans are a different product category.
