Scottish Country Dance Beginners Course
You do not need swords, kilts, a partner, or a Scottish accent. Nor do you need any previous dancing experience.
You just need to wear a pair of soft soled shoes so that you can feel the floor under your feet. And dress comfortably – skirts, shorts, or loose trousers.
Scottish country dancing is scientifically proven to help with mind and body health - and it's good for a giggle!
This Beginner course in Glen Iris starts on Saturday 8 May, and is for new dancers who wish to learn steps and basic dance formations that are the building blocks of Scottish Country dancing.
Running on Saturdays for six weeks (8, 15, 22,29 May and 5, 12, June 2021) From 10.00am to 12.00pm at St Faith’s Burwood, 4 Charles St, Glen Iris.
You will be introduced to Jigs, Reels and Strathspeys (unique to Scottish Country dancing) and will learn a series of beginner friendly dances.
