David Marama is a Malawian singer and guitar player who has been a feature of the Melbourne music scene for the past 30 years. For this video he draws on his African roots and is joined by South African born Fem Belling, an outstanding jazz vocalist and violinist and percussionist Rolf Koren. Be witness to their magic connection between these artists which goes beyond the standard instrumentation by incorporating vocal percussion techniques.

David has performed with the Public Opinion Afrobeat Orchestra at a number of festivals including Womadelaide and the Woodford Folk Festival. He has studied International Law and Diplomacy in Russia, and divides his passion for music with photography, politics and social causes.

Fem Belling - South African born vocalist and violinist, Fem is emerging as one of Australia's most formidable and in demand performers. Her African Jazz roots powerfully augment her unique musicality and interpretations. Hailing from a musical dynasty, Fem learned jazz at her father’s knee in South Africa and cut her teeth growing up in jazz clubs. Fem has four current music projects in high demand - her South African Jazz Septet, Social Conscience Original Project, The Fem Belling Quintet, and a 19 piece Afrobeat Orchestra that recently collaborated with Femi Kuti.

Rolf Koren - percussionist and former instrumental teacher at Timbertop, Rolf is also a sound engineer and production manager.
