Victorian Seniors Festival

2014 Victorian Seniors Festival

The 2014 Victorian Seniors Festival will run again in the month of October, with a core program of activities being held from 5 - 12 October 2014.

The Festival program and online events calendar will be available from mid August.

Listing an event in our 2014 Festival program

The 2014 Festival program and online events calendar will promote events run by or for older Victorians.

Events must take place in October. The events must be either free or offer a discount to older Victorians above what is normally available during the rest of the year.

You have until 31 May 2014 to list an event for the printed program and up to 31 August 2014  to list an event for the online Festival Events calendar. Any event listed for the printed program by 31 May 2014 will automatically appear in the online calendar.

It is FREE to list an event - we value your participation in the Festival.

Instructions

  1.  Go to www.seniorsfestival.com.au (link opens a new window).
  2. Follow the step by step process to list your details (not for publication) and the details of your event. If you have a good photo for your event please upload it too (final step in process) as we like to have lots of images in the program..
  3. Submit the event - you will see that there is advice upon submission about when you will be contacted to advise whether your listing is appearing in both the program and the online calendar.

If you have any problems at all with the online process, in the first instance email the Festival Manager on seniorsfestival@health.vic.gov.au, and he will contact you.

2013 - a great success!

The 31st Victorian Seniors Festival was held in October.

More than 1,600 free and low cost events and activities were staged for the Festival. Over 140,000 older Victorians and their friends and families took part.

Once again week-long free public transport in Melbourne and regional Victoria was provided for Victorian Seniors Card holders.

The Festival’s major partners are Victoria’s 79 local councils. Every council ran Festival events, ensuring the Festival had a unique statewide reach.

We thank our 2013 Festival sponsors and community partners for their generous contributions, particularly our Premier Partners: the Australian Seniors Insurance Agency, the City of Melbourne, Lifeview Residential Care and RDNS (Royal District Nursing Service).
